Warm Winter Coats Need Not = Dark Colors
Let’s face it, our daughters still have the rest of their adult lives to wear dark winter coats.
How amazing was it when we were small and could absolutely get away with wearing the boldest, brightest colours?

Combine Frozen Pastels to Bold Prints
Of course you can always combine your classic naturals (beige, nude) or classic darks (dark blue, black) with your daughter’s boldest flower prints…

We all know the classic onion approach: First, pick one statement piece, such as this fantastic dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Then combine a turtleneck top, a warm vest, woolen tights, perhaps add a scarf and hat and voilà: we’re prepared for any weather.
Most often than not, we’ll pick classic colors for this onion approach – and that’s always a good, safe choice.
But what about taking a bright and colorful step outside the safety zone? The art of the rainbow-onion principal is to pick a few prominent colors out of your statement piece and then to find ‘onion-look’ pieces in the same colors. Or, for the very bold among you, in consciously selected contrasting colors.
To match with this Dolce & Gabbana dress made from warm, soft jersey, we first picked a fine turtleneck top in bluette. The dress has intricate flowers with sequins stitched onto its right sleeve. We couldn’t bear to cover these up, so we picked a warm vest in bright pink from Moncler.
