The above quote epitomises Dondup’s design ethos. Proud to be Italian, with this brand comes an assurance of excellent quality.

A young brand, launched in 1999, Dondup began by applying Italy’s fine heritage of craftsmanship to the most classic of garments; jeans. So successful were they, that they then moved into creating menswear, womenswear and – most excitingly for us at Barbara Frères – childrenswear.

Dondup was founded in 1999 by Massimo Berloni, and Manuela Marlotti. The brand’s two most important features are experimentation, and quality. Applying Italian mastery of work with their own unique artistry, the two designers strive constantly for innovation and style that is new.

Signature Style

Of course, as well as being fabulously well-made, Dondup clothing is stylish. The signature look of Dondup is very elegant while constantly pushing the boundaries of fashion. Every piece incorporates some kind of special detail.

Characterised by excellent fabrics and masterful cuts, the silhouettes are the epitome of sophistication. The self-assured style cleverly combines classic design with surprising details or flashes of bright colours on an otherwise elegantly-neutral palette.

Dondup is expanding in all the right locations… in the most prestigious shopping region of Milan, Via Spiga 50, the doors of Dondup’s flagship store have just opened.

There are imminent plans for a second store in Rome, and having conquered the fashion capitals of Italy, Dondup also plans to open stores internationally.
