The story of Tutu Du Monde
From Australia, this wonderful brand has breezed to Europe and stolen our hearts with creations so magical, they must be seen to be believed.
When German designer Andrea Rembeck was a girl, she would crawl up into her grandmother’s sun-dappled attic and lose herself in grandma’s dressing up trunk. Playing with old pearls, lace and silks, Rembeck became enchanted by articles of vintage beauty. She dreamed of being a fashion designer and that wonderful dream came true years later.
One of her inspirations for the aesthetic of Tutu du Monde, as the French name would suggest, was antique French ballet costumes from the powder rooms of ballerinas in Paris.
The result? Unique pieces that are at once striking and delicate. They are vintage-inspired, yet contemporary in actualisation: due to modern craftsmanship and lightweight, soft materials, Tutu du Monde always strives to ensure their dresses are supremely comfortable.
