Dear readers,
The last few months have been a busy time for us – the team at Barbara Frères, your children’s fashion curator.
Two years ago we opened the doors to our new flagship boutique, a bright and airy space next to neighbors such as Versace and Hermès on Düsseldorf’s famous Königsallee in Germany.
A few weeks ago we launched our unique live shopping service that allows customers to browse our boutique via live video with a personal assistant. You can now receive the same personalized attention you would experience in our boutique, but from the comfort of your home.
For 38 years, Barbara Frères has been all about personal attention. Our relationships with fashion houses like Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana are why we know what’s coming before collections are ever unveiled. They are why houses like Dior choose us to exclusively introduce their new luxury lines for children.
But, most importantly, our personal relationships with customers let us win—and keep—their trust. We’ve dressed real and everyday princesses, and our founder was named “Germany’s first lady of children’s fashion” by Cookies Magazine.
It’s an exciting time for us, and today we’re tying it all together by introducing a new way to connect with you, our readers and customers. We don’t just want to make a prettier online shop, we want to revamp your entire experience when you shop for luxury children’s fashion.
It is my pleasure to announce the launch of our new publication, Barbara Frères Online Magazine. It’s where we’ll combine nearly four decades of experience into exclusive content just for you.
Shop Curated Outfits Directly While Reading
Traditional online shops show you each item separately. But our stylists excel at creating outfits that are more than the sum of their parts—advice you only get from true experts.
Many articles in our magazine offer an integrated shopping experience. So if you’re reading a trend tracker on nautical fashion, we’ll show you hand-selected styles to match. If you love our selections, you can immediately chose the right sizes and move them into your shopping bag. It’s as if the pages of your favorite magazine have sprung to life!
In our magazine you will find 5 exciting article categories:
Style Sheets
From our ultimate guide to festive dresses to fresh ideas on how to style a blazer, we’re bringing you pointers on keeping children’s fashion playful, appropriate and always stylish.
Insider Interviews
How was Stefano Cavalleri chosen to create princess dresses for The Hunger Games? How does Giuliana Parabiago’s, the head of PR at the world-famous PITTI fashion shows, see the future of children fashion?
You’ll find the answers and more in our regular interview series. It’s like you’re eavesdropping on private conversations with the most influential people in luxury children’s fashion.
History & Heritage
Though fashion evolves at a an ever increasing pace, we want to take the time to discover its heritage and understand the role of fashion in our childrens’ lives.
Our History & Heritage column isn’t your average history lesson though. We’re bringing you stories from deep inside the world of royal couturiers, vintage baby products and even glimpses into the life of Princess Elizabeth before she was Queen.
Brand Brief
Did you know Missoni has been family run since the 1950s? And that the company—from the factory to their fashion shows—is still run out of their countryside home?
The brands we work with have fascinating histories. You’ll love hearing how much attention and care goes into each piece, while learning the unique stories behind the legendary creators.
Of course we will also keep you updated on exciting events. We partner with established designers and rising stars to host a series of exclusive events both in our Boutique and online. We’ll announce these events in our magazine and via email, so be sure to sign up for updates.
I hope you’re as excited about our new magazine as we are. After all, we learned most of what’s in it from you—the parents, designers, and stylists we’ve worked with over the years, the ones who’ve shopped at Barbara Frères for generations, and of course those new family members among you whom we’ve only recently met thanks to our new digital door to the world.
Here’s to 40 more years.
