Karl Lagerfeld Kids

Karl Lagerfeld launched a dedicated children’s wear line rather recently, in 2016. The colour palette echoes the adult lines while the cut and styles are specially adapted to the younger audience.

Military, and Street Sweet

This season, kids can keep warm without compromising on cool – thanks to Karl. Girls will be looking sweet on the street, with sugar-candy pinks giving a feminine wink of contrast to trendy black and greys.

Modern striped and sequined details update timeless pieces this season.

Another major influence for both boys and girls is military detailing; think shades of khaki and red with bold highlights like epaulettes, braiding and army-style fastenings.

Rest assured, Choupette isn’t going anywhere this Fall/Winter! Find everyone’s favourite cat on many of this season’s pieces.

“Fashion is a game that has to be played seriously.”

-Karl Lagerfeld

Signature Style

Choupette

The lady in Lagerfeld’s life, his beloved cat consistently inspires delightful details in his  creations. Lagerfeld even launched a range dedicated to her, named ‘The Choupette Line’.  Choupette Lagerfeld is a celebrity pet in her own right, boasting her own Instagram account with over 103K followers.

Perfect for kids who…

…are cool like Karl and kids who like classics with the excitement of Karl’s uniquely playful twists.

A Playful Take On Modern Trendiness

Now one of the world’s best-known designers, Karl Lagerfeld is a global success. The label continues to embrace modernity.

History

The game began in the early 1930s. A designer as famed for his charisma as his talent, the visionary Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion industry legend. His physical appearance is as iconic as his name; the white hair, high starched collars and black sunglasses instantly recognisable.

German-born Karl Lagerfeld entered the world of fashion as a young man by relocating to Paris, and winning a competition to design coats.

The real prize was that, soon after and as a result of that win, he was hired as Pierre Balmain’s assistant. After a couple of years he moved to Jean Patou. Continuing to impress his Parisian mentors, Lagerfeld designed his own collections under the name Roland Karl. His early works were groundbreaking and innovative, for example, the silhouettes used in his 1958 debut, were based on the letter ‘K’. The dresses were fearlessly new, and initially critics were a little scandalised by shorter skirts and low-scooped necklines. This did not scare Lagerfeld, a bold innovator from the outset.

His later designs for Tiziani in Rome caused much excitement and were discovered by people who deeply desired what he was offering. Soon he was dressing major stars including Elizabeth Taylor.

Next, Karl Lagerfeld became a freelance designer, his talent and experience securing work with major fashion houses. His artistry influenced the styles of huge names like Fendi, Chloé and Chanel, for whom he became creative director in the early 80s.

Today he is creative lead at both Chanel and Fendi, as well as his eponymous label founded in 1998. Karl Lagerfeld offers ready-to-wear collections and fine accessories; bags, watches, eyewear and fragrances. In addition to his primary line, the designer developed ‘LAGERFELD’, an edgier urban line aimed at both both men and women, and Karl Lagerfeld Kids.
