In order to understand Bellusa, one must be transported hundreds of years back in time. Paris is a low-rise city of love and light, and a step in any direction takes you somewhere new. From La Sacre Coeur to the Palace of Versailles, the streets are paved with discovery.
Cinderella is the fairytale most closely associated with shoes, and Bellusa’s inspiration story also concerns a mysterious princess, alone in the world.
The company began in 2003, but the inspiration was much earlier. Once upon a time, in 1772 an unexpected princess, young and beautiful, stepped on the Parisian city streets and proclaimed herself to be the lost Tsarina, heir of the Russian Empire. From the moment she set foot in Paris, no-one believed her story – she but never stopped believing in herself. Though she was lost, she was not silenced or forgotten and her voice remains an inspiration to this day.
The Tsarina’s story inspired the foundation of family company Bellusa Paris, because that princess, although lost, showed the same strength and conviction of character that exists in all Bellusa Princesses – the girls who wear these creations.

The spellbinding story of Bellusa has only just begun. It’s a relatively new company that established itself in 2003. Over the next 15 years, the company grew, catching the attention of major international companies such as Hugo Boss, Chloe and Stella McCartney. The company continues to expand, and having started in only 2003 it produced an incredible 110,000 pairs of exquisite shoes in 2016 alone. This phenomenal success is a testament to the excellence of design and craftsmanship.
